Brooklyn is the major and prettiest borough of New York City. However, for newcomers, it can be challenging to discover the best aspects of Brooklyn to stay, live, or explore. With its 66 neighborhoods, 170 subway stops, and a plethora of over 999 restaurants and bars to indulge in, Brooklyn offers an incredible array of options to eat, drink, and enjoy. In New York City, I always prefer residing in Brooklyn, New York, not only for its laid-back atmosphere and charming brownstone neighborhoods but also because I enjoy living in non-touristy areas. By doing so, I can actively contribute to the local small business community of New Yorkers and have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world who have made this borough their home.

Additionally, Brooklyn offers the convenience of easy access to the subway, allowing me to quickly hop over to Manhattan whenever I want. It truly provides the best of both worlds, combining a vibrant local scene with the excitement of nearby Manhattan.

A significant number of young people from across the country choose to make Brooklyn their initial home when moving to New York City, with many eventually transitioning to Manhattan at some point. This trend has remained consistent over time.

As mentioned earlier, discovering the best aspects of Brooklyn is crucial. While some neighborhoods may still have a somewhat bleak atmosphere, downtown Brooklyn offers a more lively and entertaining vibe.

On the other hand, areas like DUMBO and Williamsburg exude a certain level of ‘sophistication’ if one could use that term.

One thing that stands out in Brooklyn is the incredible food scene. The borough boasts a multitude of exceptional restaurants and charming small cafes representing cuisines from all over the world.

A remarkable aspect of Brooklyn is its incredible diversity, with over 3 million people calling it home. I’ve had the privilege of meeting individuals from all corners of the globe who have chosen to live here, representing countries such as Korea, the UK, Brazil, Venezuela, Germany, Malta, Colombia, and various Caribbean nations. Additionally, Brooklyn is home to a vibrant community of African Americans and Asians.

To be honest, I personally wouldn’t choose to live in Brooklyn if it weren’t for its close proximity to Manhattan. However, it’s worth noting that Brooklyn is experiencing rapid development and renovation, surpassing growth rates seen anywhere else in the United States. Numerous new projects and luxury rental options are popping up in various neighborhoods, contributing to the area’s ever-evolving landscape.

The geographical location of Brooklyn is another advantage of living here. It offers convenient proximity to various destinations. Within less than an hour, you can reach Manhattan, Queens, and other boroughs, as well as Laguardia Airport. This accessibility greatly enhances the convenience and opportunities available to residents.
