Best Time to Visit Interlaken Switzerland-July 2018

There are a number of things you can do and enjoy in Interlaken. Switzerland is known as “heaven on Earth” because of its greenery and considered one of the best locations for skiing.

If you are a Canadian passport holder, it will be much easier for you to visit as you will not require a visa. Additionally, if you are already traveling through Europe, it will be convenient to take a train from Paris to Interlaken. Interlaken is home to scenery, delicious cuisines, culture, decades and centuries full of history and wild nightlife. It is at the mid of Swiss Alps and every view is a breathtaking one.

Tandem Paragliding Flight

So what activities should you opt for in Interlaken? There is an activity for everyone. For starters, the best way to enjoy the view would be to strap on a tandem and experience paragliding with the help of a professional instructor. The paragliding route includes gliding over Interlaken and breathing in the view while feeling weightless several feet above the ground. I recommend booking in advance with Paragliding Interlaken company or you can ask your hotel if you have a big group they can book it for you.

Harder Kulm – Top of Interlaken

If you are not as fond of such adventurous activities or simply want to spend more time exploring the scenic views, you can go for a steep hike in the Swiss Alps up to Harder Klum. The hike is quite steep and worth it but if you are not feeling up for it, you can take a train that leads to the same location and you can simply enjoy the panoramic views on the way.
Once there, you can grab a bite, enjoy a glass of wine or simply watch the sunset.

Romantic Lake Thun and Lake Brienz

Interlaken also has two large lakes; Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. You can pick from a number of water sports like boating, rafting, canoeing or enjoying the beach there.

My trip was extra special because the day after my arrival was Swiss National Day and I really enjoyed celebrating at the hostel with great food, swiss cheeseburger, live music, and fireworks.
