How to Enjoy 3 Days in Paris, France

Paris is famously known as the “City of Love & Lights” and while this city is an enigma unto itself, a weekend can give you enough time to visit all the Paris highlights. A great plus is that you can visit Paris without a visa on your Canadian passport so it makes for a great weekend stay or even a transit trip. Paris is famous for being the heart of European culture, art, cuisine, and design so you should get a taste of everything on your short trip.

Eiffel Tower at Night – Elevator Ride

The first thing to do when you visit Paris is to visit the iconic
Eiffel Tower. Take the elevator to the top of the Eiffel Tower and breathe in the picturesque views of the beautiful city of Paris. The 300m high tower is located in Champ de Mars and a great way to experience the local culture is to get some delectable wine and cheese to enjoy an Eiffel Tower picnic.

For your three day trip to Paris, be sure to pack in as many tourist sites as possible. The Champs-Elysees is the main route in Paris that hosts many famed landmarks and tourist attractions. One of the biggest attractions is the Louvre Museum located in a packed tourist district of Paris. The Louvre boasts over 35000 art exhibits and is the current home to the famous Mona Lisa.

The Musée d’Orsay – Famous Museum

Be sure to stop over at Arc de Triomphe, it is a national monument dedicated to the freedom of France and is one of the most widely recognized monuments of the world. The Musée d’Orsay is another famous art museum that hosts the artworks of modern painters from the 19^th and 20^th centuries.

Another must-see museum is the Atelier des Lumières, an immersive digital art show experience that targets all the senses and plunges you into the great works of art. The Notre Dame

For the architecture and design buffs, Paris is home to many historical buildings from different eras. The most famous being the Notre Dame Cathedral with its signature gothic style architecture that burned in the fire for several hours and destroying the 850-year-old cathedral’s iconic spire and roof on April 15, 2019. It’s the inspiration for Hugo’s famous novel.

Place de la Concorde

The Place de la Concorde is another famous public square known for its history of public gatherings for the citizens of Paris. The Palace of Versailles is another marvel of architecture, home to King Louis XIV, the luxurious palace is an homage to Paris’ reputation for being ostentatious and flashy. The Tuileries Garden is another beautiful Paris gardens that have statues all over the paths and walkways.

Love Lock Bridge Paris

The Pont des Arts or Passerelle des Arts is a pedestrian bridge in Paris that has removed all locks in June 2015. It’s sentimental messages to the bridge in symbolic acts of affection.
