I have compiled a list of all the fun places to see and how to enjoy your visit to Ontario.

Whenever one visits Ontario, one destination leaps out amongst all others and that is one of the most beautiful destinations on our list -the Flowerpot Island.

Flowerpot Island

It is a world famous attraction and it’s known for its unique natural sea stacks, also known as “flowerpots”. A little insider Ontario travel hack is to visit this natural destination via the Blue Anchor Cruises. They’re easy to travel with and well worth the money and you don’t have to worry about organizing the tour or missing out on anything. To access Flowerpot Island you can simply take the Glass Bottom Boat Cruise and visit this picturesque island.

Capital City Ottawa

Unlike any other capital, Ottawa City is an exciting urban landscape, it is the key to discover Ontario and it boasts history, art, culture and food. You could visit a museum or go skating or take the city tour – the possibilities are immense!

Ottawa City is a modern urban sprawl that checks just about all the boxes for an amazing visit. For all the solo traveler, Ottawa City has loads of hostels and cheap hotels so that you can cut down on expenses.

Visit the 1000 Islands

Once you’re in Ontario, you absolutely must visit the 1000 islands. Gananoque, a small town in Ontario, is the gateway to the 1000 Islands and it is merely 2 hours from Ottawa and 3 hours from Montreal and Toronto. It is a historically significant island, captured by three American soldiers during the War of 1812 and it is still a part of the United States of America. A great way to explore the island is to embark on the 3 hour 1000 Islands cruise by Island Queen.

The Blue Mountain Ski Resort

Cobourg Beach

Another place not to be missed is the Cobourg Beach! Nearly 1000 meters of white sandy beaches and crystal clear water makes Cobourg Beach a popular choice for hundreds of visitors. Backed by a boardwalk, the beach features picnic areas, playgrounds, snack bars and splash pads. A fun destination for people of all ages, Cobourg Beach also hosts many events including the annual volleyball tournament. Its calm waters and safe shores make Cobourg Beach a popular swimming destination.
